இசை ஞானியையும், உலக நாயகனையும் பற்றி எழுதியது பலரின் மனதை நெருடி விட்டது போலும் ....என் பிறப்பையே சந்தேகித்து விட்டனர். It's OK ..பெயர் இல்லா தெரு நாய்கள் குறைக்கட்டும்.


SOFTWARE ENGINEER செருப்பு தைத்தது போல் - என்பது பழமொழி !!

அதே மாதிரி தான் கமலின் அஷ்டாவதானம். கதை, இயக்கம், வசனம்..எல்லாம் கமலுக்கு எதுக்கு?

சமீப காலங்களில் கமலுக்கும் ஏனைய இயக்குனர்களுக்கும், இசை அமைப்பாளர்களுக்கும் தகராறு என்றெல்லாம் படித்திருக்கிறோம். புகை இல்லாமல் நெருப்பு இல்லை..!!

கமல் நடிகனாக மட்டும் இருந்தால்...எங்கேயோ போயிருப்பார். EGO பிரச்சினைகள். DIRECTION, வசனம் எழுதுவது...இதெல்லாம் தானே செய்யணும் என்று ஒரு வெறி. பலன் - சுவை இல்லாத படங்கள் !!

இத்தனை இதனால் இவன் முடிக்கும் என்றாய்ந்து
அதனை அவன்கண் விடல்

என்றார் திருவள்ளுவர்.

கமல்...நடிப்பை மட்டும் செய்யணும்...மற்ற செயல்களை விட்டு விடவேண்டும் ! அது மட்டும் இல்லை...இயக்குனர்கள் சொன்ன படி நடிக்கும் நடிகனாக இருக்கணும் ...!! MICRO MANAGE பண்ணக்கூடாது. செய்தால் எங்கோ இருப்பார்.

கமல் என்ற நடிகனை பாலச்சந்தர், பாலுமகேந்திரா, மணிரத்னம் இயக்கத்தில் பார்த்திருக்கிறோம்...மெய் சிலிர்த்திருக்கிறோம்.

ஆனால்...அவர்...சமீபகாலங்களில்...இயக்குனர்களை...DUMMY ஆக்குவதால்...பல பிரச்சினைகள். GAUTHAM MENON சொன்னதை SUDISH KAMATH BLOG ல் படித்து இருப்பீர்கள்.

தசாவதாரத்தில்...K.S. ரவிக்குமார். ஒரு DUMMY என்றே..நான் எண்ணுகிறேன் !!

சமீப காலத்தில் வாந்தி எடுக்க வைத்த திரைப்படங்களில் 'தசாவதாரம்' முதல் இடத்தில் !!! உண்மை தான்.

தலைகர்வத்தால் அழிந்த பிரபலங்கள் வரிசையில் இளையராஜாவுக்கு அடுத்தது கமல்தான் என்பது என் சிந்தனை. இருவருக்கும் இன்னும் தலைகனம் குறைந்த பாடில்லையோ என்று அடிக்கடி நினைக்க தோன்றுகிறது.

இளையராஜாவின் பேச்சுகள் மற்றும் கமலின் பேச்சு செயல் மூலமாக இன்னும் அவர்கள் ஒரு தனி உலகில் இருப்பது புரிகிறது.

கமல் தன்னை பெரிய அறிவுஜீவியாக நினைத்துக்கொண்டு அறிவியல் கருத்துக்களை தசாவதாரம் மூலமாக கொட்டினார். உதாரணம்.. CHAOS THEORY, BUTTERFULY EFFECT.

( நிற்க - அறிவியலில் தவறில்லை...அதை சொன்ன விதம், சொன்ன style, அவற்றில் தான் எனக்கு கோபம் ) .

கடைசி காட்சியில் பட்டாம்பூச்சிகள் பறப்பது சில்லறைத்தனம். NICKELODEON பார்த்த மாதிரி இருந்தது.

இன்று 10 என்ன? 100 வேஷங்கள் கூட போடலாம்...ரப்பர் mask, மற்றும் ஏனைய உபகரணங்கள் உதவியுடன் ! இதில் என்ன பெரிய சாகசம்?

என்னை பொறுத்த வரை...பல வேஷங்கள் இந்த திரைப்படத்தில் ஒட்டி வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன! 10 அவதாரம் என்று காட்டவா..!! அறிவுஜீவி கமலே..எங்க போச்சு உன் புத்தி !!

My thoughts on Kuselan's failure

தசாவதாரமும் குசேலனும் வெற்றி பெறாதது எனக்கு ஓரளவுக்கு மகிழ்ச்சியை தருகிறது.

தமிழ் ரசிகர்களின் தரத்தை தவறாக எடை போட்டனர் கமல், K.S. ரவிகுமார், ரஜினி மற்றும் ப.வாசு. இந்த மாதிரி தோல்வி கமலுக்கும், ரஜினிக்கும், வாசுவுக்கும் முதல் இல்லை.

இதை பற்றி எனது கருத்துக்கள். முதலில் குசேலன்.

வெற்றி பெற்ற ஒரு திரைப்படத்தை மூலமாக வைத்து ஒரு படம் எடுத்தால் பாதி வேலை முடிந்தது. கொஞ்சம் மசாலா சேர்த்து அப்படி இப்படி என இழுத்தால் முடிந்தது. அதிலும் பிரபலங்களை நுழைத்தால் கேட்கவே வேண்டாம். சுலபமாக பணம் சம்பாதிக்கலாம்.

இந்த திமிர் முயற்சியை சந்திரமுகியில் பார்த்தோம். மலையாள மணிசித்ரதாழை காபி அடித்து மசாலாவில் முக்கி அமோக வெற்றி பெற்றனர்.

அந்த வெற்றிதான் குறுகிய காலத்தில் குசேலனை உருவாக்க ஓர் அஸ்திவாரமாக அமைந்தது. சிவாஜியின் பெரிய வெற்றி இதற்கு துணையாக அமைந்தது.

கதபரயும்போல் என்ற பாதாம் அல்வாவை, ரஜினி மற்றும் ப.வாசு குழுவினர் வடகறியாக சமைத்தனர். நயனதாரவை இனிப்புக்கு நுழைந்தனர். வெற்றி நிச்சயம் என கற்பனை செய்தனர், கனவு கண்டனர்.

தமிழ் மக்கள் விசித்திரமானவர்கள் தான். வடகறியை, ரஜினி சேர்த்து சமைத்த வடகறியை தூக்கி எறிந்தனர். ( வடகறி தின்று தின்று அலுத்துப்போச்சோ? )

எனக்கு இதனால் மகிழ்ச்சிதான். இந்த மாதிரி படிப்பினைகள் பட தயாரிப்பளர்களை யோசிக்க வைக்கும். மக்களுக்கு நல்ல படங்கள் கிடைக்கும் ( ??) .

என்ன ஒரு வருத்தமென்றால், இந்த படத்தில் பங்கேற்ற வளர்ந்து வரும் கலைஞர்களுக்கு பெரிய அடி. முக்கியமாக பசுபதி. அவர் நடிப்பை நான் மும்பை எக்ஸ்பிரஸ், விருமாண்டி படங்களில் ரொம்ப ரசித்தேன். இந்த படத்திலும் நன்றாக பண்ணி இருக்கிறார் என படித்தேன். பாவம் !

இறுதியில் - உலகம் போற்றும் மலையாள கதபரயும்போளை தமிழில் சிதைத்ததை நினைக்க எனக்கு ரொம்ப வருத்தமாக இருக்கிறது.

யானைக்கும் அடிசறுக்கும் !! உண்மை தான் !!

Recycling in Germany

I was reading an article in today's SF Chronicle and was very impressed about the enforcement of recycling in Germany. Compared to this..US lags far behind I must say.

At the same time, I would like to applaud that efforts that are taken these days by the Government ,media, people and various organizations to promote recycling especially in the Bay area where I live.

Here is a sample of what is done in Germany from that wonderful Chronicle piece today. I am very impressed !

Everybody sorts paper, glass, plastic and organic waste. We don't think about it; it's just what is done. We are not allowed to throw old batteries, waste oil, unused pharmaceuticals and old varnish in the normal trash cans, but we can dispose of these products at every drugstore or supermarket.

If we have bigger electronic stuff, like a broken hair dryer or an old computer, we have to deliver it to a special trash station that is easy to get to and has convenient hours of operation.

Beyond that, the consumer has to pay a deposit for most of the plastic bottles and all soda cans. It is between 20 cents and 35 cents per can or bottle. Vendors who sell beverages in bottles and cans have to take back the empty containers - even small booths at local fairs or train stations.

Supermarkets are obligated to take back all kinds of packaging. Every supermarket has garbage cans for different waste, so we don't even have to take home so much trash.

For example, if I buy a new coffeemaker, I unwrap it in the shop, leave all the cardboard and Styrofoam packing there and carry home only the new kitchen utensil. The idea is not only to recycle, but to avoid producing so much waste.

What goes around...!

I wrote a few months back about IR's and ARR's songs that were lifts aka inspired by other songs/tunes from the WEST/EAST !! Actually I was shocked to hear some songs of IR which I had never imagined would have been copied.

Airtel Super Singer - Sunitha Sarathy

I am a big fan of Airtel Super Singer that airs on Star Vijay. The current edition is No.3 and there is quite a bit of participation.

Good to see so many aspiring singers both young and old participating in the competition.

Good for music ...good for the audience.

This post is about the judge in the recent rounds Ms. Sunitha Sarathy.

I was watching an episode last week where he was yapping-off arrogantly at the singers. The peak was her questioning two girls and asking them if she looked funny etc.

The already scared young girls where visibly shocked, but later Sunitha took a U-turn and said ' I am joking...I am selecting you both' and that brought a smile from the shocked young girls and also me !

Sunitha can be a celebrity etc. but I don't think this kind of drama is essential for the program to be successful. The last two versions of Super Singers never had such acts. Why now?

Maybe Sunitha is trying to copy American Idol's arrogant Simon ..I am not sure. I would rather Sunitha be polite which would go well with the participants.

SF Chronicle - Printed on recycled paper

It was a shock for me the first time I saw the Sunday Newspapers here in the US. So many pages, so many coupons, sale information....amazing I thought.

Later I realized and felt sad that a lot of trees go down just to take care of the Sunday edition of New York Times !! Add up all the newspapers across America and quickly we'll know that it takes a lot of trees.

So, I thought I'd go green and stop buying paper magazines/ newspapers. Internet came handy. I was reading the newspapers online. I subscribed to magazines via ZINIO...and came out of the guilt.

Then, last week to my surprise I found out that San Francisco Chronicle was printed on recycled paper !! ( It says so on the top of front page). I was thrilled.

So these days, I pay 25 cents everyday at the local BART station and buy the Chronicle.

Thanks SF.Chronicle for being kind to mother nature.

I am not sure if newspapers in your area are printed on recycled paper. If they are, please post the name of the newspaper in the comment section.

தமிழ் திங்கள்

இனி திங்கள்தோறும் தமிழில்...தமிழ் இலக்கிய இலக்கணம் பற்றி எழுதவேண்டும் என முடிவெடுத்துள்ளேன்.

ஏன் இந்த முடிவு ? சும்மா தான். தமிழ் மொழி தேய்ந்து அழிந்து விடுமோ என்ற பயம் எனக்கு தோன்றியுள்ளது.

இனி உலகம் உருண்டை இல்லை என்ற நிலை உருவான பின், நம்மூரில் பல மொழிகள், அவற்றில் இலக்கிய இலக்கணங்கள் படிப்பார் அற்று பேச்சளவில் மட்டும் வாழ்ந்து வருவது ரொம்ப வருத்தத்தை தருகிறது.

இது போன்ற சின்ன சின்ன முயற்சிகள் ஒருவேளை இளையவர்களின் ஆசையை தூண்டினால் அவர்கள் துணைகொண்டு நமது தமிழ் இலக்கிய இலக்கணங்கள் மீண்டும் உயிர் பெறுமோ என்ற பேராசையில் இதோ :

TN govt. used the Tamil film industry to project the Hogenakkal water issue a few months back.

In fact I read somewhere that there was a rollcall !! Every one from the Tamil film industry ( sangam I think ) had to attend mandatory. I even remember actress Asin getting into trouble for not attending !

Traditionally, the film industry in Tamil Nadu (I'll stick to where I grew up) has been a pawn to the Govt. They never had and will never have a back bone to stand up and fight.

Let me ask you a question. What happened to the Hogenakkal water issue ? What was the resolution ?

The politicians of Tamil Nadu wanted to project a picture that they care for the state and the people. Their aim was not water...but fame! Their aim was votes and money ! In fact half these stupid politicians don't even know the problems at Hogenakkal ! I even doubt if they know where Hogenakkal is on the map !

But the poor public and the film industry ...they are helpless. They have to ...whether they like it or not..bear with this nonsense.

Look at what Rajini did. He participated in the Hogenakkal bandh and now he is begging to the Karnataka Govt and the people for his movie KUSELAN !
