Jayapradha is back !

'Pranayam' starring - Mohanlal, Anupam Kher and Jayapradha is being released for ONAM this year.  I am very eager to watch Jayapradha , who used to be my heart throb growing up !  


Who can forget her  ' Salangai Oli' with Kamal !

I remember seeing Jayapradha at Madras Airport in 1981 while she was very popular.  I have to admit that she was just unbelievably beautiful.

Times have changed, years have passed and Jayapradha looks Old now but still has that grace in her ! Mohanlal is becoming a bigger 'Bun' but charming as ever !


Anupam Kher IMHO is one of the best/versatile actors in India today !


 The combo of Mohanlal, Jayapradha and Anupam Kher is just too good to wait until ONAM .  

Music by my favorite 'MJ' and it is his 101st film !!

(Director "BLESSY' an amazing director whom I like a lot.  

With such a wonderful team what else can one ask for?

Pudhiya Mugam - Waste of time !

I wasted 35 $ along with 3 precious hours today !

Yeah, I watched a Malayalam movie 'Pudhiya Mugam', which I thought would be good, based on just one Super hit song 'Picha Vecha Naal'.

Learnt a well deserved lesson ! The movie was nothing short of 'C**P'!

But for the songs, re-recording and cinematography, not to forget decent acting by Prithiviraj, this movie is not worth watching.

The movie started with a bang and then within 30 minutes, right after the super song 'Picha Vecha Naal', became stale. Typical Masala !!

My love story with Malayalam films / music began in the early 80's thanks to a couple of my friends who were from Kerala.

It blossomed while I was working in Bombay in the 80's, thanks to my two room mates. It continues till date (Thanks to songs like Picha Vecha) and I am sure it will be like that till my lifetime.

One master figure, 'Raveendran Master' was/is 90% responsible for my love with Malayalam film songs.

Yesudas, IMHO became a super star...thanks to Raveendran Master. Tons of Malayalam movies became blockbusters thanks to some wonderful directors, actors, singers and Raveendran Master.

Today, I had a chance to watch a You Tube video on 'His Highness Abdullah', one of the many musical masterpieces of Raveendran Master.

All the songs in this movie are evergreent hits. M.G.Sreekumar got a National award for his song 'Nadha Roopini' from this movie !

My personal favorites - Gopika Vasantham and Pramadhavanam take me to heaven even today when I listen to them.

Unfortunately, Raveendran Master couldn't shine in Tamil. It's a loss to Tamil music I feel.

One way Ticket - Malayalam Movie songs

I was listening to the songs from the new Malayalam movie 'One way ticket' this evening.

Looks like, this is the first movie in 2008 for Prithiviraj. Mammooty has also acted ( as himself ) in the movie.

The songs are wonderful. I haven't heard about the Music director Rahul Raj. So I was a little sceptical.

But, I was surprised. Songs were very nice to listen to.

Vinodhayatra - Fantastic Malayalam movie

Had the privilege of watching 'Vinodhayatra' this evening at IMC6 in San Jose. Fantastic movie indeed. Very refreshing and clean. All the actors have done a great job.

Wonderful direction by Satyan Anthikkad who has given subtle messages about various social issues all thru the movie.

Meera Jasmine is very very refreshing. This is the first time I am seeing a Dileep movie and I am really impressed with his acting skills.

Mukesh and SEETHA have done a neat job, while Innocent is hilarious as usual.

Ilayaraja is still a master of melody. The song 'MANDHARAM' stands out and stays in memory. Excellent photography.

Overall, had a great feeling when I came out.
