General Musharraf

I've always admired General Musharraf. Might not be as a leader but as a good daring pubic speaker. I've heard him speak on CNN and the other news channels and he also had an appearance at Comedy Central with John Stewart that was hilarious !!

I watched him at the India Today Conclave this morning. It came LIVE here via the 'Headlines Today' channel. And boy, was he as daring as ever. He dodged several questions which was expected, but the one quality, he had the guts to come to India and address such an elite gathering which is admirable.

I liked the way he handled himself, though I could see him getting agitated at times and running his hands thru his forehead and hair. Rarely do we see a leader from the Subcontinent with a sense of humor but I found it ( many times) in General Musharraf.

How many leaders ( Gen.Musharraf asked the same question ) from India would dare do this. Can they travel to Pakistan and talk in a conference like this? Can they address the Press and the people of Pakistan like what Gen.Musharraf did today?

He had some valid points about India which can only be answered by a leader from India. I wish someone answers to his questions about RAW etc.

His point about 'LET'S FORGET THE PAST AND MOVE ON', is what I liked the most.

Hat's off to you General Musharraf !. Long live peace !

LTTE - Criminals

Pic. courtesy: Jalagam

When I read magazines and newspapers from Tamil Nadu I feel angry and sad.

Angry that people fall prey to politicians who don't care about the country. Sad that the people don't have the brains to understand the truth.

I am talking about LTTE and the support that is extended to this Terrorist outfit.

For me, LTTE is nothing but a bunch of criminals who murdered India's Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. I am sure any patriotic Indian would be by my side for that. I have sad memories of that day. It happened in the very soil where all this propaganda and support for LTTE is loud..aka Tamil Nadu.

The Indian Government must take serious actions against all the Politicians and Political groups and even celebrities who support the LTTE.

Why should anyone treat the terror groups that fight for Kashmir different from LTTE ? That is the question I ask anyone who supports the LTTE.

My soul won't rest in peace until the LTTE leaders are brought to justice for murdering late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

I feel sad for the people of Sri Lanka who are caught in between, as collateral in this war launched by the Sri Lankan government against the LTTE.

To the Tamil Nadu Politicians/groups/people who support LTTE:

Do you also support the Kashmir separatist groups and other terror outfits in this world ?

Only in Tamil Nadu

Where else would these things happen in India ?

Only in Tamil Nadu, where it is ok for heroines to dance semi-nude in movies where their grandfather in the name of Hero explores her beauty !

India is considered the Biggest Democracy on Earth ( someone once told me we are so big that if we all go to Pakistan and piss, Pakistan will drown ) where people don't even have the freedom of expression !

So what if Namitha / Shreya or anyone wears what they want to wear in public. If someone doesn't want to see them , let them close their eyes ! Did the voters elect these politicians to argue about these silly things in the assembly ?

Why don't these politicians and the public who support all this drama protest when the same women act semi-nude in movies? A lot of movies with U certificate has these same women dressed the same ways ? Does any politician or public care ! Why now?

I am ashamed that the elected officials waste their time on 'Moral Policing' rather than doing something constructive for the people !

Mr. Narayana Murthy for President - No - No - No

murthy
The President of India ! The title might look very big on paper...but the truth is...( IMHO ) The President is a dummy in the Indian Government.

A few months back I saw this shameful act on TV. Several prominent politicians were caught napping when President Dr. Abdul Kalam was speaking.

I read this today and also heard the same on NDTV this morning. Dr. Kalam welcomed the idea of Narayana Murthy becoming the next President.

If you think about this for a second you'll notice why the politicians will love this idea.

Mr. Murthy has been very vocal about corruption and bad politics. He is one of the top people in the powerful IT sector which is the bread and butter of the Indian Economy.

Now, by making him the President it is easy to shut his mouth. Sounds like a great idea..doesn't it?

And that's the precise reason why I do not want Mr.Murthy to be the President of India. I'll be happy if somehow ( will never happen ) the top brass of Indian thinktanks come to power and Mr. Narayana Murthy becomes the Prime Minister.

I know I am dreaming here. But I hope and pray for that to happen !
