Happy Man today !

I am a happy man today. In fact 'Very Happy'.

I have to applaud President Obama and everyone who helped support the Healthcare reform bill that passed today !

'Great achievement President Obama and team'.

I was eager to see what the top Economists would write about this bill and here is what Paul Krugman wrote in NY Times.

The Democrats have done it. The House has passed the Senate version of health reform, and an improved version will be achieved through reconciliation.

This is, of course, a political victory for President Obama, and a triumph for Nancy Pelosi, the House speaker. But it is also a victory for America’s soul. In the end, a vicious, unprincipled fear offensive failed to block reform. This time, fear struck out.

What's wrong with all these Senators and Congressmen who oppose the Health care reform bill.

Anyone who loses his job in the USA also loses the health coverage. It's very scary and extremely stressful. I don't understand what is wrong with all these public representatives who oppose the reforms proposed by Pres.Obama.

In my heart I feel that the people who oppose these reforms must be exposed to these conditions to really know what this is all about.

Finally today, USA Today wrote an OP-ED piece supporting my views. Here is the last paragraph:

Make lawmakers experience the insecurity. Our final proposal has nothing to do with political reality, but everything to do with accountability and fairness. Members of Congress enjoy some of the best health insurance in the nation. It's a job perk, heavily subsidized by taxpayers. In some cases, members with as little as five years in Congress can keep the medical coverage even if they're voted out of office.

So while millions of Americans have no insurance or risk losing it if they're laid off, senators and representatives feel none of that fear themselves. We suggest they agree to forgo using taxpayer money to pay for their insurance until they make sure every taxpayer can get covered. That might increase their sense of urgency a bit, and it strikes us as eminently fair.

Mortgage companies rip us off !

One of my best friends got demoted a few months back and went to work for only 1/2 his previous salary.

He didn't have a choice since his wife was pregnant ( we all know about the medical insurance issues here in the US ) and chose to remain in the demoted position, just for the medical insurance.

His mortgage was over 1/2 of his original salary, so he spoke to his mortgage company to modify his mortgage.

Until date, for the last 6 months the mortgage company, has been working/sitting on his case, which is pretty straight forward.

He has sent documents every month to show that his income is only 1/2 his previous income and yet nothing has happened !

This makes me real angry. How many people like this are suffering?

Why should we bail out the banks !

I am glad we have a president who talks about all these issues . I am confident , that he will do something.

Healthcare Reform - Let it happen !

When I read about the protests, screaming and name calling at the town hall meetings about President Obama's Health care reform I wonder..

Do these people really have any brains?

Do these people who scream and protest know what it is to be without medical insurance? How stressful it could be?

In this country, if someone loses his/her job...along goes with it the medical insurance ! COBRA can help to some extent but the costs will be pretty high for a family.

God bless you, if you end up with some medical condition or emergency when you are without Insurance. Bills could run to thousands of dollars.

Take my case - When I had my heart attack last year, my Insurance took care of the bill completely, but I did get the bill...! It was over 70,000 USD. Imagine, if I didn't have insurance !

Try getting Medical Insurance with pre-existing conditions and you'll know how it is.

All of you, who scream and yell...Please think about it. You'll realize how important the reform is, only when one of your family members / friends goes without insurance!

Sometimes, politicians/public in the US behave even worse than those back home.
