President Obama's speech today

It rocked. I don't have any more words to express my feelings !!

How often did a politician talk and I got goosebumps?

How often did a leader talk and I got confidence?

How often did a head of a nation talk and I got to nod my head saying 'YES' ?

Today I did. I am happy that Obama is the President of the USA.

History will tell one day that President Obama was the greatest.

History will tell the story about the recession of the 21st century and how we came out of it.

History was 'Live' today...I watched it on CNN.

Make History - If your nation is going to dogs...wake up !!

God bless America and the world !

Obama is not Houdini - Oh..sorry..you might not know Houdini...please Google.

Not sure about your 1st statement. Not sure about your anger ! But all those change as you grow up. Good luck with that.

Great speech. I always liked his style. But the problem is he is surrounded by idiots like the give away queen palozi and how about senators Dodd and Franks.
Vicky - Mind your language while posting in these kind of friendly blog sites.

As a person who voted for him, I did not even care to listen to the speech because -- its just that....a speech..and two days later, what if any has changed in your world or my world?

I want actions....I am slowly getting to a point, where I dont know whether he himself is believable.....I say that because every one that he recommended to a cabinet position had a tax issue...and they rescinded their nomination....so how can I believe a president who has not even done his homework yet...

no one, take it from me, no one is going to solve this nation's mess be it financial or school system or health care....no tax cut or hike, no pullout of troops from Iraq, no nothing is going to fix it....

we are the one and only masters of the domain.....Everyone needs to pay their debt, watch their spending, spend time with their kids homework, throw away the lavish style, get to the roots, and think and DO what is needed...not talk about what is needed.....no bailout is a fix to any of these......not a bank bailout or detroit bailout..

we say AIG cannot fail? well, how did we let them be that big so that we cannot afford their failure?

we say AIG cannot fail because, the debt that was insured with them will then go bust and our banks will fail..... but our banks are failing regardless aren't they?

we talk about a digital world, but want to erect a fence on the mexico border...and in the north, adjoing the canada border, you can just literally walk across...what gives?

we talk about streamlining health care....I work in the industry that passed the HIPAA law and an EDI 835 format....its anything but a standard and has increased the cost of processing, not decreasing it.....

France has better health care than we do, and yet they pay a fraction of what we pay -- source WSJ several years back......is anybody asking why?

when a human body endures a heart attack, its not a overnight phenomenon....its years of treating your body shabbily...no cholestrol pill, no nothing will fix it overnight...and even those will take years......

Take it from me.....its going to take 10 years to come out of this mess.....if you dont believe it, the nasdaq crashed in 2000....cisco went from 85 to whatever its today.....have we recovered? it was called the internet bubble, and now we have the "housing bubble"? so what proof do we have that during this president's term we are going to see the end of the tunnel?

I am sick and tired of speeches....Reagan in his opening speech said "in our world, government is not the solution to our problem, government is the problem".....so true and something everyone needs to remember....

any darn person can give a speech....at the end of the day, they live in the whitehouse, using our money...flying in private jets....using our money.....going to dinner using our money.........which they probably have to print given the way they are dolig out.....

its me who has to pay my mortgage..have to calculate whether I can go see my parents or not......and have to think twice before going to olive garden with family..and have to drop my kids to school praying they will return safely...and endure an 8 -5 job.....its that and nothing but that......

Speech என்ன பெரிய speech ??
வெண்ணை !!

Dei Ganesh,

Super! This country of course has to change its "mindset" and "attitude" and that IS going to take decades..

Athu ellam seri, kadaisila "Vennai" athu mattum thaan puriyala!

Vichu.

Ganesh Venkittu said...

the "Vennai" was not aimed at my brother, but more towards how we use it as an expression in a moment frustration...

for example -- you are waiting in Egmore to receive somebody...and an announcement comes saying the train is 45 minutes late.....and after about 5 times of saying 45 minutes late, an announcement comes that says "this train is now running 24 hours late" you basically throw up your hands and say "pongada vennai"..

I feel the same way with this economy....and the speeches about this economy.....

tt_giant said...

well, if the train is 24 hrs late, vennai would not be the first word from my mouth!

but i liked your comment.

Ganesh,

Obama is not Houdini - He can't do anything overnight. Everyone knows about the mess and how we got into it. Like you said, it will take time.

However, I was impressed by his speech and it gave a lot of people like me a dose of confidence. That's what I appreciated.

I am very hopeful we'll come out this very strong with some good lessons learned in the bargain.

Viswa - TTG - Thanks for your comments as well.

Hope is a good thing, Mr.Narayanan. I listened to his speech and my initial reactions were the same as your's as well. But, Mr.Ganesh is correct. We aren't gonna be out of this mess for a long time, I'm afraid.
