want to debate - When Pandu died, Maathiri the second wife of Pandu was not forced into Sati. She chose that to be her destiny. Sathyavathy, the second wife of Santhanu was not forced by anybody towards Sati.
For dowry - there is a saying "Pon koduthu Penn thedal"....this means "give gold to the one who gives the woman"....In the golden days of India, this is how marriages were conducted....have any doubts? read how subhadra got married to arjun and what arjuna gave to Balarama/Krishna in exchange for Subhadra....read how panchali got married and what Bheeshma gave to Durupada in exchange for Panchali.........read how Kunti got married....
We have given more power to Jayalalitha than anybody to protect us Tamil people, did we not?
