Sourav Ganguly - Proof will be in Australia

Sourav Ganguly's come back has been hailed by everyone. I applaud him too. It's a good comeback indeed.

But, having watched him play the last series in Australia a few years back I feel the real proof of his form lies in the series ahead. I'd like to watch him play Bret Lee and Co. who tore him apart in the last series.

If he plays well and scores, It will be the real proof. Let's wait.

My thoughts on Senior Players

I've always felt that Sachin , Sourav, Dravid and Kumble must retire and give way to youngsters ( even if they are in so called 'Form' ). Well, even if we lose a few games/series with the youngsters so what, we'll groom them for the longer run.

Thanks to these senior citizens in the team youngsters don't get a chance and they fade away. Unfortunately Indian cricketers don't retire ( very few exceptions ).

They'll keep playing until they are thrown out. We have seen it happen all along. We've also seen a lot of youngsters fade away.

I am happy to see Ishant Sharma and Pankaj Singh in the Indian team. I wish them well.

There is no use playing Ranji Trophy

Look at this

http://stats.cricinfo.com/ranjisuperlOPeague/engine/records/batting/most_runs_career.html?id=3441;type=tournament

None of the Top 5 is even in the Reserves or the Squad.

Badri is getting Old.. Pujara is still young. Hope they make the cut soon,

guess he proved his worth....And ur statement makes everyone laugh - "I've always felt that Sachin , Sourav, Dravid and Kumble must retire and give way to youngsters ". Good that they r still there or else without them India would have been bowled out in double digits...Guess they have made u eat ur words. God, not sure abt the state of Indian cricket without these players....Guess you shld go and play and write back some unpleasing lines in ur blog. A quick question?Do u ever have any patriotism and love for the country where u were born?

"Thanks to these senior citizens in the team youngsters don't get a chance and they fade away. Unfortunately Indian cricketers don't retire ( very few exceptions ). " - Everyone shld be thankful for them as without them our score would have been easy to get counted by fingers
