Minus points

Concert started 15 minutes late ( IST ?)

Bad audio system - Couldn't follow any song / understand what people spoke

Noise levels were extremely high. I was glad I didn't take my children.

It is a known fact that the music is sync'd. However there were a few sync issues.

Singers losing the words of songs ( Chitra did a bad job with the Sahana song)

IST? ARR concert in Bangalore started two hours late. Whatever the reason (it rained heavily), the crowd stood and waited. Sadhana Sargam goofed up the Telephone Mani pol song she sang with Hariharan, but it was a good one. And yes, Sukhvinder and Kailash Kher rocked, not to mention Shankar Mahadevan and Hariharan.

Yes, I second Vasanth's opinion. NV Sir, can you also please put a detailed post? Looking forward to it. Thanks!

Attended the A R Rahman "3 Dimension" concert in Vancouver, Sunday June 3, 2007 (one day after the San Francisco concert). The concert started 2 hours late, and they kept us standing outside the stadium (Pacific National Exhibition Coliseum) for 1 hour, while we could hear the rehersals, before letting us in. This was unexcusable as there were many elderly people and children who had to stand in line - not to mention a sizeable contingent of fans who drove all the way from Seattle.

Worst of all, there were no apologies for starting the concert two hours late! A R Rahman simply said that they had had a "very long journey" from San Fransico that day. This was sort of unprofessional, and I guess only desis make a habit of tolerating such things.

The PNE Coliseum accomodates about 15K people and it was about 50% full (some 7K attendees), which was a not bad size crowd.

The concert itself was very good, particularly the performances of both singers and dancers. The special effects were preety good but not great. A lot of laser stuff, but none of the "3D effects" you heard about in this Australian concert. There were no 3D googles distributed. (Apparently, the 3D goggles will be distributed for the Toronto concert, according to one site).

The highlight in this show, IMHO, was the Shivamani drumming sequence. I have never, ever heard such drumming ever before in a live show, either western or Indian. Sukhwinder was also awesome and so was the (Canadian?) singer who sang Mayya, Mayya. However, the great music was marred by the jarring sound system, which was loud and not modulated well - making the voices get drowned in the din.

Overall it was a good experience. The crowd was also good fun.
