Imagine most of India blanketed with a feet of snow. Now imagine Ski Resorts in South India. Imagine sub-zero temperatures in winter. Well it could all happen, if Cherrapunji can cry for rains.
Cherrapunji in Assam used to be the place with the highest amount of rainfall while I was in school and college.
It is shocking to read this report on Cherrapunji. While we digest this news, it’s important to ponder why this is happening.
I feel that it is very important for all countries to ratify the Kyoto Protocol. It is sad that USA and Australia have refused to ratifiy the treaty though they have signed it.

The debate between development and the environment has no solutions in sight. All countries have policians who are thinking of the next elections. Who cares about the next generation !
USA and Austrailia always ought to show the world that they have power! Sad state of affairs! :(
Indeed. Sad, alarming - this world we live in. What deplorable custodians for our future generations!
In the name of development we have destroyed many resources and changed its routine life. I don’t tell development is wrong; at the same time we should be clear our work will not affect our Nature. A worrying issue.
I read 'Stae of Fear' by Michael Crichton recently. He debunks the theory of Global Warming with many published scientific references. He says that the GW issue is just a potboiler for the politicians.
and from those days of heavy rainfall till date they always had acute potable water scarcity! what a shame ila?
