CHANDRIKA SOAP has been my favorite bath soap all my life. It started with my Dad introducing it to me when I was young.
I used to love the foam ( even in the hardest water ) which probably is one of the reasons I fell in love with it ( Which kid doesn't like blowing Soap bubbles ).
As I grew up, Chandrika was always there with me.
Now living in the USA I still buy Chandrika soap and surprisingly even my kids love it!
BTW, It costs around One US Dollar a piece here.

Arogiyam......Lifebuoy yevidamo Arogiyam avidamey... naan soap podarathu illai... Now into shower gel...
yep, I switched to the sandalwood flavored chandrika now. There's no going back :-) Whenever there is a trip home or visitors, a major part of the baggage is soap.

LOLl@ jagans comment
hahahaha :)))))
for me , my all time favorite is Mysore sandalwood soap..I still use it.
In my early days I thought it was the only soap available, such was the promotion at home. Good to use for the head too when the shampoo runs out :)
[Longtime fan and user of the 70s model Chandrika and Lifebuoy, unfortunately the hard-as-stone version of the latter is extinct :( ]
Chandrika was also a prominent sponsor of the 840 Seidhigal on DD, along with Cinni fans, Tullu pumps and Booty mixie!
I have used Chandrika too, at some point of time or the other. I kinda like the smell of it!
:)
That brings to mind another old favourite - Medimix, ayurvedic soap.
I like Hamam. Nothing beats it. I tried Chandrika briefly and did not like the smell. Hamam does not do that and Doctors recommend it.
(heheh, could not resist that byline)
Yah even I like chandrika Soap a lot :-)) The smell and fragrance is too good. Where do we get it in Bay area?
onga complexion ku ethu than karanama sir...apdiye onga sattaya ujala ku mathunga
Sakthi
Jagan, thaangale
Used to use it some time back. But seemed to be a little harsh....not soft...also too much of foam..
Now I don't care what type of soap I use....only concerned about whether it's a bathing soap and not a washing soap!
N.V ji, Are you busy? I had sent many mails after I sent the resume as you requested. But seems you have not received it??? Please do revert back...
I use Mysore Sandal form my chidhood.
Jagan super comment;)

Chandrika soap - I even remember the lines of their jingle. :-)
It was my grandmothers recommendation. It rings a bell. A good sound bell of the good old days !
Always Green Hamam... Not sure how the new yellow Hamam fares in the market.
I've never used it. Always went with some brand that had orange in it. There was Cinthol Orange, Lifebuoy Orange.. I've even used Johnson's KIDS :-P
Narayanan Sir:
Even my favourite soap is Chandrika.
I get teased like hell for using that soap. But I love it and stand by it! Ever since childhood, I have been using the same soap.
Maybe sometimes in between I shifted to Medimix but that was only when chandrika was out of stock!
Am in fact surprised to meet someone who shares the same feelings towards Chandrika.
Interesting! :) Yeah, its tough to get rid of our trusted associations esp. when it comes to soaps, shampoos & Barbers!! :)
Ive been a user of Chandrika and Medimix soap ever since I visited South India. Ive been buying it at www.spicyusa.com. Ive been getting several Indian things from there as well since there is no store near me. Theyre prices and service are excellent.
