Friends

I remember the handful of sand that I dropped into Kishore's grave as they were closing it! I remember his casket, I remember his funeral !

I remember that day when my wife told me 'Kishore passed away'.

All those wonderful years of friendship finally ended that day !! Kishore was laid to rest in Oct 1997.

He might be gone, but I remember him every now and then, during times of joy and sorrow. I feel that Kishore is looking out for me !! I honestly believe so !

Friends - They mean more than everything else for me in life. I am sure it's the same for most of us.

It's hard to part with friends!

Today, I had to pickup my daughter after a sendoff party for one of her friends who is moving to Missouri ! My daughter and Sierra have been friends the last five years and they've been pretty close too.

As we hugged and said 'Bye' as we left the restaurant, I felt like crying.

Friends - Thank God for giving me some wonderful friends!

Friends many times, define who you are. And when they move away, leave a void, thats not quite filled at alll. For its in a different time and space that the relationship existed !!

The value of friendships are now more felt than ever. With social media tools, its far easier to connect root us to a time that we bonded !

Over the last year, i have come together with a whole host of school mates / class mates / friends through Orkut and Facebook. Its such a delight to connect. And more often than not, we picked up conversation from where we had left off. Despite the fact that we had gone off, on our own roads leading to different edges of the forest.

Of the same forest. Perhaps.

Ramesh,

I still remember Kishore's innocent laugh. How many jokes we would have shared and how many moments? Great! Great! Great! Wonderful days. I could remember the evenings we had after dark sitting on the Appollo ground and also the ground opposite to Kishore's house. His first letter to you after he reached US. Wonderful days! Wonderful guy! Friends are forever.

Only a good friend would know the value of a good friendship.

And you remain as such a great friend even though we don't see or communicate quite often. And I am sure that I am not the only one who feels so. :-)
