What a great story! On a slightly similar note..I have been tending my precious jasmine plant for 3 years now...you see, during winter, I have to keep it indoors at night and outdoors for a couple of hours for the sun..
In December 2005, on a seemingly warm weekend we went out of town, and the temperature dipped to the teens and the poor thing was a gonner. All the leaves wilted and the stems dried out and it was like that for several months. One day I painfully decided to bid it goodbye so I can reuse the pot, when a I saw a miracle! A tiny green leaf was emerging fromt he stem at the bottom of the plant!
I was thrilled and in a couple of months the plant gave us some wonderful flowers! It may seem silly, but some get emotionally attached to pets and animals, I do to my plants! Thanks for letting me share...
