I have to confess that I feel 20 years younger today !!
I had invited Jagan Pathra and Shivshankar home for the weekend.
I picked up Jagan on Friday night and Shiv joined us on Saturday morning. We visited the 'Mondavi winery' in the Napa Valley , went to Calistoga to see the 'Old Faithful Geyser' and then spent the evening hours at a 'Petrified forest'. Ended the day watching 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire' .
This morning after a nice walk and a good breakfast Shiv drove home to Sacramento while I dropped Jagan at his apartment in Santa Clara, after a nice dharshan at the Livermore Temple and a hearty Lunch at Saravana Bhavan.
Jagan - Looks a little different compared to his profile photo. Budding youngster with a lot of aspirations and very friendly. We discussed life in Chennai, Bangalore and India. His creativeness came out when he requested me to take a picture of him jumping. I loved those pictures I took. I've posted one below.
Shiv - My daughters call him big brother ( You'll notice the truth from the photos). He is very mature for his age. Had a nice discussion about education in the US. It was funny to see him tease my younger one this morning, pretending that he was in law enforcement.
It was fun to discuss life with two youngsters ( half my age) ! I have to say that I learnt a few things today, thanks to Jagan and Shiv including a few pieces of advise to my wife and me about raising children. My older one called us all 'Fossils'..meaning we are OLD ! ( Ok about me and my wife..but these two, they don't look like fossils to me! )
After two days of fun, we felt the silence in our apartment this evening !
We look forward to meeting Shiv and Jagan again in the coming weeks.
