raaja

Nice tribute. He would remain my favorite composer of all time. I was blown away when I heard "how to name it" and "nothing but wind". After that, I rigorously started listening to his old songs. Amazing talent.

I am surprised as to how you keep track of birthdays of all eminent personalities.

Sir,

Nice post. None can have second opinion on his musical knowledge (i should stress original works)and tons of ever-green compositions. Above all, he is so humble and simple.

Regards,
Sundaresan.

genius no doubt.....brought carnatic music to every tom dick and harry in tamilnadu......

only one question remains -- why did he not release his symphony.....was that a personal issue or a management issue or distribution issue.....I dont know...

to reach such heights is sheer talent no doubt....

Prabu Karthik - I like Ilayaraja. In fact people who were in their teens when Ilayaraja entered the
tamil music world would certainly have a special place for him.

Grey Vampire - Genius is a genius be it ARR or IR or YSR or KR or Deva or HJ or VS or anyone.!
Clubs only cater to their respective idols. MHO.!

Srivatsan - Thank you Sir, I like raaja too. by the way Chippi irukkudhu is by MSV.

Vatsan.

I am an ardent IR fan too. but I would like to point out that 'Chippi irukkuthu' is composed by MS Viswanathan and 'Mun Paniyaa' is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
