One last time

All of us would have gone thru some kind of 'Last time' episodes in life. Some good, some bad, overall emotional !

I went thru this, while I listened to
'BOB PRICE', in KCBS 106.9 FM this morning.

Today was his last day before he retires. I am a regular listener of KCBS and I don't miss his piece on Finance especially the 7.55 am. and the 8.25 am. reports, when I drive to work.

Today when he announced '
For the last time, this is BOB PRICE, KCBS', I felt very emotional! I've never seen BOB ( until today via the web ) but somehow, that 'Last time' sentence made me feel sad.

I will definitely miss BOB's reports.

Wish you the very best in life BOB !

Newsworthy?

This news item cracks me up.

But it bothers me that 'The Hindu' publishes these stories. Is this newsworthy to be published ? For me, the answer is a big 'NO'.

'The Hindu' was once read by aspiring IAS and IPS candidates just for the English language. These days, I feel it's like reading 'Dhinathandhi'...not that I have anything against the Tamil newspaper.

I've pointed out the quality issues in my blog every now and then.

Here is one and here is one more.

I think it's the changing times. Hope the editors realize it and bring back the quality news reporting that this newspaper was once famous for.

CHENNAI: The Fire and Rescue Services personnel rescued a man who was trapped in his bathroom in Nungambakkam on Thursday night.

According to police sources, Suraj (34) of Pycrofts Road went to the bathroom and found himself locked. After repeated attempts to open the door failed, he raised an alarm. Neighbours alerted the police who informed the Fire and Rescue Services control room.

A team reached the spot and rescued Suraj.

Maestro's latest

Pazhassi Raja, that's his latest, Wonderful song !

Here is Raja's own..just like his latest...This came in the 80's.
Dream Girl Bhanupriya.

Here is one great song - possibly same raaga - from the Oscar Winner

Finally, here is the classic in Aberi !

Happy Deepavali !

Give me the headset and play Ilayaraja songs and I'll go to heaven listening to them !

Very true...but.....

Every now and then a song comes out of AR Rahman, that mesmerizes me. The last few days, I've been listening to one of ARR's best songs.

Song is 'Udhaya Udhaya' from the movie Udhaya. Sung by Hariharan and Sadhana Sargam.

Thanks to my Zune and a great noise cancelling Sony headset I could enjoy the instruments that ARR has used in this song. It's out of this world I have to say. I don't have words to express the joy. ARR is just amazing with his BGM.

Of course, my praise won't be complete without a 'Hats off' to Hariharan and Sadhana Sargam..wonderful soulful singing !!

If you get a chance, listen to it in private, with no distractions using your headset, and you'll know what I am talking about.

Happy Deepavali !
