KREA - Visiting India

I didn't know a lot about KREA until I got in touch with Mr. T.A.Ramanujam a few weeks back. Felt very bad that I didn't know about them, in spite of their shows here in the Bay Area.

I got goosebumps when I read their mission:

Krea's mission is to bring the richness of the Indian theatrical heritage to the North American audience, by delivering quality shows that provide entertainment and cultural connection to our origins. Krea will endeavor to serve as a platform for the local artistic talent to participate, entertain and be recognized.

As I wait here to see their plays, I would like for you to enjoy their plays in India.

Yes, the group is visiting India next week and have a series of shows planned.

Please encourage 'Theater' and KREA. They are doing these plays for a noble cause and your encouragement will help them.

சிவாஜி THE BOSS - Tax relief?

It's a shame that this movie got a Tax relief from the Tamil Nadu government.

Can someone please explain if 'சிவாஜி THE BOSS' is a Tamil title ?

If சிவாஜி is the title, why add THE BOSS everywhere ?

Tamil Nadu Government - Can you please answer my question.

Piracy

Chandramukhi was a copy of the famous Malayalam movie
'Manichithra thazhu'.

Nobody even mentioned a single word of thanks (forget financial compensation)to the guy who came up with that wonderful story.

In fact a lot of people defended P.Vasu (Director of Chandramukhi) and said that it was his original creation.

Day light robbery !!

Yet, these same hypocrites voice against Piracy. Hello...Hello...First clean your backs please before you preach.

Lifestraw - Wonderful invention

I was browsing thru the NEWSWEEK magazine when I came across this wonderful article on LIFESTRAW.

This wonderful product from a Danish company will definitely be a lifesaver in many countries where people struggle to get clean drinking water.

WIKI says that LIFESTRAW is not effective against Giardia lamblia, and adds that the company is working on that.

I applaud VESTERGAARD FRANDSEN GROUP for their wonderful invention.

Sivaji - Media Lies!

Was reading IBN-LIVE this morning.

Here is a quote:

Tickets for the opening weekend were sold out in key markets like New Jersey and the San Francisco Bay Area, a week before the release.

I wanted to check this and found that tickets are STILL available for this weekend.

So, what do you call this?

LIARS LIARS !

PS - I am waiting for the 8 -10$ tickets which I think will happen soon!

Rajinikanth - What I like

I am not a big fan of Rajinikanth and neither am I a Rajini hater. It's been like that for me since my school / college days and continues till today.

I've always heard about Rajini being a down-to-earth, humble person who is simple in his public life. I've heard this from my friends who have seen him up close on several occasions. I've also seen this on TV, You Tube etc.

The clip I posted yesterday, stands out for that one reason. Just look at the man's eyes, his body language, his attitude and above all, when the reporter asks him the punch line dialog, just see how easily he is able to do that without any inhibitions.

I am not sure any other actor at his level would do that. In fact most of the actors whom we see today have artificial accents and too much attitude when it comes to public life.

So, here you go, Mr.Sivaji Rao Gaekwad aka Rajinikanth, you are high up there just for these personality traits of yours !

Boycott 'Sivaji'

This is unheard of. Tickets are being sold for 16$ in the Bay Area and for over 20$ in other cities in the US.

This is a big ripoff. Just for the distributors to make money and for the big guys who are paid in Crores or several lakhs.

Should we encourage this trend ? I am planning to Boycott 'Sivaji' and watch it on DVD when it comes out.

Hello AVM/Shankar/Rajini and Co. - This is one reason why piracy is so rampant. Just for you guys to make money if the theaters charge us so much, why won't people go and watch it free on the NET?

You've lost 4 tickets from my family. I'll wait for the 20$ DVD to comeout.

Rahman Concert - Review - Oakland June-02-2007

Enjoyed the concert last night.

Plus points

Wonderful song selection, vibrant songs

Stage presence of ARR and the singers

Amazing crowd

Superb auditorium

Wonderful dances

Superb props

Minus points

Concert started 15 minutes late ( IST ?)

Bad audio system - Couldn't follow any song / understand what people spoke

Noise levels were extremely high. I was glad I didn't take my children.

It is a known fact that the music is sync'd. However there were a few sync issues.

Singers losing the words of songs ( Chitra did a bad job with the Sahana song)
