CHEENI KUM - ILAYARAJA'S Latest

cheenikum

I am a huge Ilayaraja fan. I firmly believe that IR is the best when it comes to melodies.

Today, while I was browsing the CD's of new movies in Hindi I noticed that Ilayaraja has scored the music for the Amitabh film CHEENI KUM.

I knew that there would be good songs and immediately bought the CD.

Wow !! Wow !!

IR has redone three of his old Tamil songs with some wonderful brand new orchestration.

1) Mandram vandha ( Mouna Raagam)

2) Kuzhal Oodhum Kannanukku ( Mella Thirandhadhu Kadhavu)

3) Vizhiyile en Vizhiyile (
Nooravadu Naal )

Please listen to the songs and enjoy the Maestro's music.

Vinodhayatra - Fantastic Malayalam movie

Vinodhayatra-2

Had the privilege of watching 'Vinodhayatra' this evening at IMC6 in San Jose. Fantastic movie indeed. Very refreshing and clean. All the actors have done a great job.

Wonderful direction by
Satyan Anthikkad who has given subtle messages about various social issues all thru the movie.

Meera Jasmine is very very refreshing. This is the first time I am seeing a Dileep movie and I am really impressed with his acting skills.

Mukesh and SEETHA have done a neat job, while Innocent is hilarious as usual.

Ilayaraja is still a master of melody. The song 'MANDHARAM' stands out and stays in memory. Excellent photography.

Overall, had a great feeling when I came out.

Well said Mr.Peter

peter
Peter Roebuck - I repect him for his columns in 'THE HINDU'. Such a wonderful writer who doesn't hesitate to 'Call a spade - a spade'.

I was reading
his column today which is very interesting. He has a few interesing points on Tendulkar, cricketers and the Indian selection committee.

By the way Sachin and the gang are doing good against Bangladesh ...yeah..Bangladesh!

Whatever happened in the World cup has to be erased from memory ! But can it be ?

Life these days

life

Life is a little hectic these days !

சரோஜா, சாமான் நிக்காலோ!

  • New Job
  • 1 1/2 hour commute one way ( 70 Miles)
  • A lot of work
Gone are the days when I used to come back home around 6 PM. These days, I reach home around 8 PM. Infact today, I reached home at 9.30 PM !

I miss my friends at QRS / INOVIS, I miss my lunches at Vic's, Berkeley and above all I miss those wonderful views of the bay and those boats!

But I am settling down. Beginning to like my job, people around me and even my commute! Today, I had a surprise...I found a very nice South Indian Restaurant near work. Annapoorna Restaurant at San Mateo. This is one of the better South Indian style restaurants that I've been to. Food is a little expensive but the taste is good.

Today's lunch buffet had 'VADA KARI', which used to be my favorite dish while I was growing up. And....believe me..it tasted exactly the way..it used to taste! I complimented the Chef after I finished my lunch. Please try them out if you are in the San Mateo Area !
